Rolling stop

Date: 2018
Case study: Seattle University course work
Role: art direction and motion design

This typography project explores the tension of an oxymoron—rolling stop. The design was realized through multiple iterations followed by a number of static versions painted in black gouache. This practice developed a greater understanding of the anatomy of type and how to use typography more effectively to convey information that is otherwise not explicitly there. The design was taken a step further where I introduced motion through a printed flip book, and later turned into a gif.
